Professional Team Completes its Work and Leaves<BR> North Runway Expected to Reopen Tonight

(Hong Kong, 27 October 2025, 1930hrs) – At 1900hrs today the professional team completed the salvage work of the cargo aircraft involved in the October 20 incident. The salvage vessels lifted the remaining parts of the aircraft, including an aircraft engine and a landing gear, out of the sea. The fuselage and other parts of the aircraft have been transported to storage site for the further handling by the Air Accident Investigation Authority.

The salvage vessels, barges and related vessels have since started moving away from the marine areas of the airport.

Upon completion of safety check, the North Runway is expected to reopen at 2300hrs today for the resumption of normal operations.
